They’re the latest two celebs to rock some vintage transitional jackets.

Last week, Toronto natives The Weeknd and Drake entered a battle of windbreakers, with Drake’s tech-y versions beating out The Weeknd’s retro style. Now, two more stylish gentlemen—John Mayer and Shia LaBeouf—have entered the windbreaker fray. Call it “Windbreaker Wars 2K17”: colorful windbreakers are everywhere right now, whether you’re a casual Urban Outfitters shopper, a world-class musician, or a talented actor.

Mayer leaned hard into the garment’s outdoorsy roots, pairing a vintage L.L. Bean Aztek jacket from the early ’90s with some camo trousers and Visvim slides. It’s the kind of Japanese campfire vibe we’ve come to expect from Mayer, and strikes a nice balance between workwear and streetwear. (Some of Mayer’s other outfits have veered harder into full-on Shaman territory—not that we’re complaining.)

LaBeouf, meanwhile, reached for a paint-splattered satin windbreaker that was a little confusing even by his own thrift store-heavy style. In the past, LaBeouf channeled more of a vintage Patagonia or LL Bean vibe, while this one looks like a jacket that’s been turned inside out. Between the jacket, the ultra-slim sweats and the running sneakers, we’re not even sure what vibe LaBeouf is going for. Our advice? If you’re looking to inject a little LaBeouf style into your wardrobe, think more about copping some hiking boots and fleece shorts or a vintage dad hat. Or, you know, a Prada suit and shirt combo. Skip the painted-up satin.

So, in this battle, John Mayer’s L.L. Bean and Visvim combo wins out. But considering that ’90s mall-walker style seems to be back with a vengeance, expect a new installment of Windbreaker Wars 2K17 soon.
