Get ready: Ines de la Fressange’s collection of ultra-cozy menswear launches tonight.

Like most fast-fashion retailers, Uniqlo drums up both publicity and sales with high-profile collaborations. But unlike its competitors, who tend to put out flashier clothes with bigger brands, Uniqlo’s collaborative pieces don’t feel stale after a week, or even a season, of wearing them. From ongoing partnerships like Uniqlo U by Christophe Lemaire and +J by Jil Sander, to one-off collections with cult brands like Undercover, Uniqlo’s collaborations have areal sense of spirit while still being rooted in the brand’s minimalist ethos. In short, they’re worth paying attention to—and well worth shopping.

Uniqlo’s got one big collaboration on deck this fall: its collection with white-hot Irish designer J.W. Anderson, which launches at the end of September. But there’s another menswear offering hitting shelves tonight that’s loaded with just-off-center spins on staple fall pieces: Uniqlo’s Ines de la Fressange collection. A French style icon and former model, Fressange has been designing women’s clothes for the retailer for several years. But for her eighth collection, she decided to expand into men’s. The results are deeply Uniqlo: subtle, thoughtful, and more than a little fun.

Fressange took inspiration from the Danish concept of “hygge” (pronounced hoo-guh) for her Fall 2017 range, which you’ll remember as one of last year’s big lifestyle fads. Hygge centers on the idea of warmth and coziness, and you see that in the collection’s corduroy jackets, Fair Isle sweaters, and soft flannel shirting. Fressange’s too-cool French spirit, meanwhile, shines in simple black basics and pared down trench coats. She cites “a young Alain Delon” among her list of inspirations. Together they form a pretty elevated wardrobe—and one you can cop no matter how un-elevated your salary might be.

We’ve collected a few of our favorite buys in the 42-item range here. As for Fressange’s favorite item, she told us this: “There is a navy blue coat that is gorgeous: perfectly cut, nice fabric. Personally I love it so much I will take it in a size small to wear it myself,” she said, laughing. “My companion will look great in it, my brother too, and even the friends of my daughters. Do you know why? I will give you a secret: All men look better and more sexy in a navy blue coat!”

Shop the collection on Uniqlo’s website starting tonight at 9pm EST, and in select Uniqlo stores nationwide starting tomorrow. Knitwear launches in October, right when you’ll need it.
