Ermenegildo Zegna’s massive Beverly Hills party last night brought out a bunch of well-dressed men in some aces EZ threads.
Not Kanye West, not raging wildfires can stop people from partying in L.A. Last night the celebration took place in a ’60s architectural gem designed by John Lautner, perched at the top of the Santa Monica Mountains in Beverly Glen. Ermenegildo Zegna creative director Alessandro Sartori hosted the event to celebrate the launch of the new Ermenegildo Zegna Couture XXX Collection; an eco-friendly athleisure line aimed at Zegna’s streetwear-wise clientele. Naturally, Benjamin Millepied’s L.A. Dance Project performed an interpretive dance wearing the collection during the soiree.
To get a look at some of the pieces in the line, and observe what nailing house-party style means in 2017, check out our roundup of the best-dressed guests below. Whether you go swanky in a suit like Garrett Hedlund or relaxed in track pants like Wiz Khalifa, don’t forget your “it’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine” face—or your sneakers.
Men in Black (Suits)
When you’re playing host, cohost, or VIP guest, a slim black suit is always your best move. To bring a serious fit like this down to earth a little bit wear it with one daring accessory. GQ legend Jim Moore does it with aviator glasses. Alessandro Sartori and Benjamin Millepied did it last night with sneakers. Garrett Hedlund, who, fwiw, gets our vote for best dressed, did it with statement socks (see top). Your move.
We hesitate to use the word “squad” here but, like, what are four handsome dudes dressed up in matching black bombers but a squad. And yes, they are also what you might call squad goals. If you’re going to a party and you can’t tell how fancy it’s going to be, who’s going to be there, and what’s going to be playing on the dance floor, a pair of tailored black pants and a black bomber is a smart move. (Just resist the urge to pose for pictures using the menswear wrist grab. If you don’t look like Lucky Blue Smith, people will probably think you’re a bouncer.)
Take it Easy
As the previous seven men have demonstrated, all black is a foolproof house party style move. But that’s doesn’t mean it’s your only choice. If you’re a more is more, look at me, top down, let’s have one more drink, kind of guy A.) let’s hang out and B.) you need an outfit with some color. Wiz Khalifa’s off-white track pants and sweatshirt are proof that with some swanky accessories, even sweats can look formal. Miguel, meanwhile, makes a case for mixing velvet and combat boots. As for your own fit, it’s up to you. Just make sure everything fits like these guy’s looks do; relaxed but not asleep.
Prices for the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture XXX collection start at $135 and go way on up from there. The line is available at Zegna’s New York and LA boutiques as of today, and launches globally on February 8th.
